Halloween Trick or Treat (or Teeth)

As Halloween approaches, here are some tips for preventing cavities!

1. Wait 30 minutes to brush your teeth after you eat candy!

Brushing too soon can damage the enamel due to the differences in pH levels.

2. Choose chocolate over sticky candies!

The longer the candy stays in your mouth, the higher the chances for tooth decay.

3. Drink fluoridated water!

Even some bottled water has fluoride!

4. Eat Halloween candy with or right after meals!

This helps minimize cavity-causing acids.

5. Remember to bring your kids in for the dental visits every 6 months!

We want to make sure they don’t develop cavities and other dental problems.
